What’s a jib crane?

Jib crane is a kind of small and medium sized lifting equipment with unique structure. Its lifting system is fixed at the end of its arm or travel along the arm; its arm can rotate but can’t be lifted up.

It is composed of pillar, rotating arm, rotating driven system and electric hoist. The pillar is fixed on concrete ground with anchor bolt, and the arm is driven to rotate by cycloid gear reducer, the electric hoist travels horizontally on the steel I-beam of the arm and lifts up heavy load. The pillar of jib crane is a hollow steel structure with light dead weight, long span, heavy lifting capacity which is economic and reliable.

Lifting capacity

The maximum weight of your application must not equal or exceed the weight of your crane. When defining your lifting capacity of your jib crane, it should be accounted in the following way:

+15% for the weight of the hoist and trolley
+15% for the deflection of hoist and trolley
+25% capacity allowance for impact

Degree of Rotation

pillar jib crane offers up to 360 degree rotation.
wall mounted jib crane offers up to 180 degree rotation.

Outreach Range

The outreach range of jib crane refers to the distance from the boom tip to the crane hook, which also is the working area needed.

Crane Height

The height of jib crane has the attachments such as electrical entries included.

The under boom height refers to the distance from the floor to the underside of the boom, which will determine the type of hoist required.
