Jib Crane Solution: Wall-Mounted Jib Crane Provides Full Machining Coverage

21 Jan, 2021

Overview:

The client, Mr. Abdulla is a local private construction welding engineering company in Maldives. He was looking for a cost-effective solution that could be implemented with the current warehouse design. He has contact with several crane suppliers in China, but still not satisfied. After a brief review if the situation, DQCRANE immediately provided a professional jib crane solution for customer’s reference.

Solution:

Mr. Abdulla want to purchased the wall jib crane for indoor use, to lift various steel beams. After understanding the customer's working conditions, our company provides the detailed quotation and design drawings for 1 ton BX type jib crane, equipped with electric chain hoist, the specific drawings are as follows:

About wall jib crane:

  • Wall jib crane is known as, which has a horizontal member (known as jib or boom) that supports a moveable hoist fixed to wall.
  • The main advantage of using a wall-mounted system is the space-savings that it offers.
  • They don’t require any type of floor or foundation support, and they can also be installed very close to the underside of the lowest ceiling obstruction, providing maximum clearance both under and above the boom.

Why choose wall mounted jib crane:

  • A wall-mounted cantilever jib crane consists of a horizontal boom attached to a vertical mast, which is mounted with brackets.
  • Because the cantilever design utilizes a partial mast and full boom, these systems provide maximum clearance in factories with multiple overhead obstructions.
  • A wall-mounted cantilever jib crane can be installed in very tight locations and as close to the ceiling as possible for the best use of space.
  • Wall-mounted jib cranes are a great material handling solution for busy factory floors and facilities with multiple obstructions overhead.
  • Wall-mounted jibs require no floor space and no special foundations, and they quickly fold out of the way of larger overhead cranes.
  • Wall-mounted jibs provide crane coverage of a semi-circular area, which is perfect for individual workstations or to supplement an existing bridge crane.
  • With standard spans up to 5m and capacities up to 5 tons, these ergonomic systems are both economical and heavy duty.

Precautions for use of cantilever crane:

  • The operator must be familiar with the structure and performance of the cantilever crane. After passing the training and assessment, he can operate the crane independently, and should comply with the safety regulations.
  • Every time you use it, check whether the transmission mechanism is normal, and the safety switches are sensitive and reliable.
  • There should be no abnormal vibration and noise when the cantilever crane is running.
  • When the cantilever or hoist runs to the end point, reduce the speed and cancel the use of the end point limit as a parking tool.
  • Whether the motor is overloaded, abnormal vibration and noise.
  • Whether there is abnormal noise in the starter of the control box.
  • Whether the lead wire is loose and rubbing.
  • If a fault occurs, such as overheating of the motor, abnormal noise, smoke from the line and distribution box, etc., the machine should be stopped immediately and the power should be cut off for maintenance.
The operator must strictly abide by the safety technical operation regulations. It must also be checked frequently, maintained in time, and the problem will be solved immediately if it is found.

How to choose the right jib crane:

  • Area of rotation: Freestanding and mast-style jib cranes offer 360-degree rotation. Wall-mounted cranes offer 180-degree rotation.
  • Height Under Boom: The distance from floor to underside of jib crane’s boom is the height under boom. Also factor in hoist size and lifting height needed.
  • Overall jib crane height: Factor in any attachments, such as electrical entry, so that the crane will be free from overhead obstructions.
  • Actual working span needed: The working hoist (or hook) travelling distance.
  • Power requirements: Will you need power for your jib crane’s motor drive, its trolley, its hoist, or all three? Indoor or outdoor use?
  • Installation: DQCRANE can review your application and, together with our engineering team, make expert recommendations.
